Morning Star Food Pantry

Morning Star Food Pantry Mission Statement:

The mission of Morning Star Food Pantry is to help fight hunger by distributing food to the elderly, single parents, people with illnesses or disabilities, low-income working families and all others that may need temporary or long-term assistance.  In addition, we will provide companionship, education and training in life skills, moral support, guidance with application to government assisted programs and spiritual direction.

In 2012 the food pantry fed 3,719 adults and 1,630 children for a total of 5,349 people plus approximately 25 people who needed emergency food in the beginning of November after Super Storm Sandy. Approximately 50,147 pounds of food came into the pantry through the food bank – that’s not counting other food drives in the community which brought in more food.

Note: the food pantry is open to all who are in financial need, without regard to religious affiliation. The pantry is open from noon to 3 p.m. on Thursdays. Those in need of food are welcome to come once a month. Please bring valid identification for all members of your household and verification of financial need. Bring with you:
